BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Erie County Preservation Board is trying to save an old church at the corner of Tacoma and Colvin in North Buffalo that was heavily damaged by fire in April.

The owner of the former North Park Baptist Church has applied for a demolition permit, but the city hasn't granted it yet.  It's been vacant for years, and has been damaged by vandals.

However, the Preservation Board says the church is significant given its roots as a Baptist Church and Jewish Temple and believes it meets criteria to be designated as a city landmark.
