TONAWANDA, N.Y. - A capital project that was supposed to be roughly $12 Million in the Tonawanda City School District could end up costing a whole lot more if the plan isn't revised.

The capital project has come in $730,000 more than was originally planned for.

The project includes construction of the new Clint Small Stadium and Field and an addition wing for music classes.

The stadium construction will go ahead as planned, with the project expected to be completed by this summer.  However, the music wing may not happen as a result of the larger than anticipated costs.

Superintendent James Newtown said that a normal capital project bids around $250 a square foot, but in this case bids came back at $500 a square foot.

Several options remain on the table for the addition, including a renovation to the current music rooms or a complete redesign.  The architect plans to have options available in about a month.
