BUFFALO, NY -- The future for a former Buffalo hospital is much clearer now.
Friday, several politicians and community leaders unveiled the new name for what was Sheehan Hospital. The more than 100 year old building will now be known as Compass East.
State Senator Tim Kennedy says that attracting tenants that work in medical-related fields for the building will mean the facility will continue to serve its east side neighborhood.
"It's really focusing on taking a historic building that has a great significance in this community and transforming it into a center that's going to serve the needs of this great community well into the future," says State Senator Tim Kennedy.
One of the new tenants at the facility will be University Pediatric Dentistry. They will provide dental services to families in the area.
