GLENS FALLS, N.Y.-McKinley beat Burke Catholic from Section IX 76-73 in overtime Sunday afternoon in Glens Falls.

Macks head coach Zaire Dorsey told Two On Your Side's Stu Boyar "I can't even describe it Stu. Its like a dream come true for my players. Its an accomplishment. I'm happy for them. Everyone is feeling good right now."

McKinley lost a lead in the fourth quarter and had to rally to win. Marcus Morris hit a three point to tie the game at 60 with 24 seconds remaining in regulation. Then with just five seconds left Sammy Smith calmly nailed two free throws to tie the game and it was headed to overtime after Burke Catholic missed a chance at the buzzer. Dorsey told Stu "the biggest key was keeping our composure when we lost that ten point lead in the fourth quarter and actually went down three. We just had to keep our composure. I reminded the guys of the Amherst game where we had a lead and we lost it and we just had to keep playing and keep fighting."

The Macks are the first Yale Cup team since Bennett in 1984 to win a championship in one of the state's two largest classes. Bennett won Class B. The last Section 6 Class A title was won by LaSalle in 1996 before there was a Class AA.

McKinley senior Lovell Smith was named MVP of the Class A Final Four. Smith had 24 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 3 blocks. Senior Marcus Morris was named to the All Tournament team.

The Macks aren't finished playing this season. They'll play in the Federation Championship Friday and Saturday in Albany.
