BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Changes for The Ride for Roswell this year were announced Thursday night as the benefit kicked off its 18th season.
Organizers said one million dollars of this year's proceeds will be donated to the pediatric hematology/oncology program, a collaboration between Roswell Park Cancer Institute and the new Oishei Children's Hospital.
New routes for riders were also added, including one to Canalside.
The benefit has raised over $20.6 million for cancer research and patient care programs at Roswell Park since 1995.
Roswell Park president and CEO Dr. Donald Trump said he's thankful for the community's help.
"The most important thing, I think, is the energy that's exhibited as the community comes together in support," Trump said. "It's just a terrifically emotional and energizing event."
The Ride will be held Saturday, June 22, at UB's Amherst Campus.
