BUFFALO, NY - In the second such incident within 12 hours, another vehicle has crashed into a Western New York home. This time it was the house at 1516 Clinton Street near Bailey Avenue. Fortunately, no one inside the home was hurt but the vehicle also took out a next-door neighbor's wheelchair ramp.

The neighbor, Heliberto Sanchez, tells 2 On Your Side that the ramp cost $8,000, and he doesn't have the money to replace it.

"[It] sounded like a bomb went off, my nephew screamed at me, said that someone crashed into the house and my wheelchair ramp, looked out front and as you can see it's a mangled mess and now my independence is taken away from me," said Sanchez.

Buffalo police say a driver had some sort of medical issue. Police say the driver who plowed into Sanchez's porch is a 58-year-old man who had a passenger. Both were taken to ECMC.

"Hopefully my nephew and nice people will help me up and down the stairs until I get something situated for a new ramp," said Sanchez.

There is no word yet on the name or status of the driver. Police continue to investigate.

Christian Youth Corp in Cattaraugus County is looking into donating a new ramp or elevator for Sanchez. Some Good Samaritans have put together his ramp, which will be used on a temporary basis.
