BUFFALO, NY - There were plenty of hugs and kisses at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport. One day after explosions rocked the Boston Marathon, locals are returning home.
"I've never been happier to touch down in Buffalo and I don't even care what the weather is, I want to see my family, just hug everybody," said Maria McKendry of Clarence Center.
Christina Karl was in New York City in 2001 and in Boston in 2013. "I kind of got that weird sinking feeling. You couldn't feel the the ground shake, but you could feel those vibrations in the air."
Several runners were asked if they would return to Boston for another marathon, the reaction was mixed, but Candice Olivier of Toronto did not hesitate to say, "in a heartbeat," she would return.
