TOWN OF TONAWANDA - A fight between two teenage girls ended with one in the hospital and the other facing charges.

It all stems from a fight that happened on Friday in the Town of Tonawanda.

Police say the two girls were fighting verbally in front of a home at 97 Chaplin Drive when one of the girls got behind the wheel of an SUV and allegedly ran the other girl over, then fled from the scene.

Kenneth Cook, a neighbor, was the first to call 911. He tells 2 On Your Side he was just coming home when he saw the girls arguing in front of his house. He was looking out the front window of his home when he saw one girl get behind the wheel of the SUV, and the other girl knocking on the driver side window.

"Then (she) proceeded to walk away ... I would guess assuming that things were over ...  proceeded to walk in front of the car. When she did, the girl hit the gas, hit her, knocked her forward, and then hit the gas again and ran her over, dragging her underneath the car, and then took off down the street. It was the most unbelievable thing ... it was horrific."

The injured girl, Madeline Silvia, 17, was taken to ECMC with a broken pelvis.  She is currently in fair condition.

The driver of the SUV, Liana Nieves, 18, was arrested and charged with assault. She is currently in the Erie County Holding Center.
