BUFFALO, NY - An orphaned polar bear cub named Kali embarks today on his long trip from Anchorage to Buffalo.
Kali was orphaned when his mother was killed by a subsistence hunter in Alaska.
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Regional Director Geoff Haskett says the Buffalo Zoo was picked as Kali's temporary home in part because it already has Luna, the zoo's six-month old polar bear cub who can socialize with Kali.
UPS is flying Kali to Buffalo. The flight is scheduled to arrive Wednesday morning at 5:15 a.m. You can watch the arrival during Channel 2 Daybreak on Wednesday morning.
