TONAWANDA, N.Y. -- Residents and business owners in Tonawanda are being reminded that the deadline is nearing to let a federal judge know how Tonawanda Coke's violation of the clean air act has impacted their lives.
Federal, state and local leaders all came together Friday to get that message out. They explained why its important that the federal judge who is in charge of sentencing Tonawanda Coke gets to hear the impact statements from those affected.
Sentencing for Tonawanda Coke is set for July 15. Individuals, organizations, or businesses that believe they have been impacted by the company's negligence can submit statements to the judge through the U.S. Attorney's office.
The deadline to do so is July 1.
