BUFFALO, NY - If you're looking for somewhere to go to try and cool down in this heat, the new splash pad in Martin Luther King, Jr. park is finally open to the public.
The splash pad officially opened at 11 a.m., following a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The opening of the splash pad is about a year later than the city originally had planned due to several delays in the construction.
The $4.5 million project will be open year-round for residents in the area to enjoy. The splash pad will be open during the summer months, a reflecting pool in the spring and fall, and an ice skating rink in the winter.
