BUFFALO, NY - A group of 100 or more disaffected individuals took to the streets to express their outrage over the court decision that acquitted George Zimmerman of all charges in the killing of Trayvon Martin.

"We're a non-violent people, we're not here to demonize white people or say that all cops are bad," said event organizer William Richardson, "but we do understand institutional forces that affect all individuals, that put them and put us in a position where they are hurt."

Protests were reported in various cities across the nation, from New York City in the east to Oakland and San Francisco out west.

A racially diverse group of protestors marched from the intersection of Kensington and Bailey avenues to the "E" District police station at 2767 Bailey Avenue Sunday evening, chanting slogans and carrying protest signs. There were no reports of violence.

Richardson organized the ad hoc rally mostly on line in the hours since the Zimmerman verdict was reached.
