Earl's Restaurant, which closed down last November after 50 years in business, will be re-opening soon.
Earl tells 2 On Your Side he got antsy while on some extended vacations. He’d plan 3 week vacations but by day 3 or 4, he was bored. He also found out that many of the people that worked for him had a hard time finding work and he felt bad about that. He promised himself he would do something about it so he decided to reopen the restaurant under his management, hire back all the same people and some more.
The restaurant is expected to open 2-3 weeks from now.
Last year, Earl donated his buildings to Houghton College after his wife and partner Marilyn passed on. But it wasn't the same for Earl, and he thought the time had come to finally say goodbye.
Earl, 73, started the business back in 1956.
