She strutted her way onto our screens during a memorable commercial in the early 1980's. So whatever happened to the Talkin' Proud Girl, who starred in that civic pride campaign?
Her name is Terry Licata-Braunstein, but to most she's known as the "Talkin' Proud" gal.
It's been nearly three decades since Terry, then an aspiring actress and college student in her early 20's, was selected to star in a series of TV ads designed to get Buffalonians enthused about their embattled hometown.
She is still occasionally recognized for those ads, in which she was shown leading a growing crowd through downtown clapping and singing what would eventually become an entire community's theme song.
"Talkin' Proud", which Terry refers to as "the most wonderful opportunity of my life, lead to several roles for her in television and major motion pictures.
She still lives in the Buffalo area, and is married with two grown sons, one of whom is pursuing an acting career and has a part as "the bus boy" in "What Happens In Vegas", a film starring Cameron Diaz which is due to be released in May.
