A former postal worker from Tonawanda has pleaded guilty to a felony mail theft charge.
U.S. Attorney Terrance Flynn says 39-year-old Apryl Silvashy opened approximately 50 pieces of mail while she was employed as a mail carrier from April 2007 until December 2007. She took whatever cash she found inside and then got rid of what was left along her route. Silvashy says she stole between $400 and $600.
Silvashy faces five years in prison, a fine of $250,000 or both when she's sentenced in November.
