Thanksgiving Day is a time for feasting with family and friends. Many also combat loneliness by having a meal with others at community dinners.

We caught up with several people in Lockport, Buffalo and Kenmore having meals with others instead of staying at home alone.

Beverly Lowe, a Lockport resident, said, if she didn't go to the Salvation Army, she would "sit home and eat hot-dogs."

Food pantries nationwide say they're seeing the greatest demand in years and much of it is coming from first-time visitors, many of whom are middle class.
