ESPN'S Chris Mortensen reports that the Bills and former Pittsburgh Steelers coach Bill Cowher had a "stealth meeting" with the Bills last week.

The meeting apparently took place before Buddy Nix was named Bills general manager. According to Mortensen Bills owner Ralph C. Wilson Jr. joined team president Russ Brandon  to gauge Cowher's potential interest in getting back into coaching.

Mortensen reports the Bills believe the talks with Cowher were productive but gave no indication if Cowher would accept the position if it were offered.

Cowher is currently an NFL analyst for CBS sports.  Cowher could not be reached for comment. A network spokesman had no comment on the report.

The ESPN report adds that Bills GM Nix will interview interim coach Perry Fewell Monday as well as meet with other Bills assistant coaches.
