Lindsay Harmon was attacked New Year's Day in Buffalo
Buffalo, NY-- A Buffalo woman was stabbed in the eye on New Year's day. Lindsay Harmon, 29, and friends believe it was a hate crime. Police say they are still investigating.
Lindsay Harmon was attacked New Year's day outside a Buffalo nightclub.
According to Buffalo police, Harmon was stabbed near in her right eye, cheek and arm outside Roxy's on Main Street.
Police claim the victim was arguing with another woman when she was attacked.
Harmon had to undergo surgery and is now recovering at home. According to a Facebook page, her friends say it was a hate crime because Harmon and two other females were harassed, assaulted and the attackers used hateful language about gays and lesbians.
2 On Your Side asked Buffalo Police Spokesman Mike DeGeorge if this was an anti-gay attack. DeGeorge said, "It's under investigation at this point. It's my understanding she (Harmon) was walking in the 800 block of Main Street with a couple of other friends when a female from another group said something, that sparked a verbal exchange and at one point the victim was stabbed in the eye by the female suspect."
The suspect has not been caught. There is no firm description on the attacker being released by police. Anyone with information should call the Buffalo Police Confidential Tipline (716) 847-2255.
