Cory Stocnyski Earns Black Belt
BUFFALO, N.Y. - Challenges are something Cory Stocnyski is a little too familiar with. He has lived with Asperger's, an autism disorder his entire life. On Saturday Cory faced the ultimate test, earning his black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
Tae Kwon Do is about discipline and technique. Cory began classes with Master Chong's Studio back in January of 2007. Since then, his parents, Colleen and Bob Stocnyski, have noticed a ground breaking change in their son
"For every student it's a unique and personal experience, for Cory, there are different challenges he brought to the table, of course memorization was a bit of an issue, but this is just an incredible young man," said Michael Mertens of Master Chongs's World Class Tae Kwo Do.
At the end of the day, Cory not only received his black belt but took home much more, a sense of belonging and friends for life.
