The stabbing stemmed from a fight between two groups around 3 a.m. in front of the Macy's department store at Arden Fair Mall, which opened at midnight offering post-Thanksgiving bargains.
KCRA-TV spoke to a witness, Richard Swift, who said the argument involved three men. Swift says it started when a man made a comment about the females with the other group. Police say the victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police say the two suspects fled. They're reviewing surveillance video that will help them identify the men.
The incident did not interrupt shopping activity at the mall.
