A suspect trying to escape police picked the wrong house for a safe hideaway in Portland, Oregon Thursday afternoon.

Shortly after 3 pm Portland Police scuffled with a man while trying to take him into custody on an arrest warrant.

The man was tasered by police, but got away.

He ran down the street and into a home.

Homeowner Ed Hoover says he and the suspect started wrestling and then Hoover grabbed the handiest weapon nearby, a baseball bat.

After a hit in the head the incident ended with police taking the suspect into custody.

He was taken to the hospital for a checkout, then to jail.

Suspcet Larontae Robinson is at the Multnomah County Jail facing felony charges of burglary, escape and assault.

Robinson's girlfriend Taylor Simien was also arrested and is charged with escape and hindering prosecution.

Both are felonies.
