AMHERST, NY-- If you drive along the eastbound I-290 from the Sheridan Drive exit to the exit ramp for the eastbound Thruway, you can't help but notice the spilled red paint in the center lane.

State Police say that spill of red paint came from a truck operated by a driver now facing DWI charges. He was apparently caught "red-handed" around 4 AM on Monday.

The problem is some motorists who were out in the early morning hours apparently drove through that wet paint without realizing it. And now some are noticing the red paint splattered on their vehicles.

Some of those drivers contacted 2 On Your Side to ask if there is anyone they could contact for paint damage to their cars.

Troopers said the truck which spilled the red paint is owned by Pallet Services which is located at 310 Grand Island Boulevard in the Town of Tonawanda.

We spoke to a manager in their customer service office who assured us the company will cover claims for the paint damage caused by the spill from their truck. You can contact Pallet Services at 873 - 7700 and ask for extension 208.
