Buffalo Man Arrested in Craigslist Scam

LOCKPORT, NY--   A Buffalo man is accused of scamming people on Craigslist.

New York State Police say the received a complaint from a Lockport resident who responded to an ad on Craigslist for a house for rent in Lockport.

Investigators learned the victim paid Calvin O. Caudle, 39, over $1,000 for the rent and a security deposit for a property he did not own or had authority to rent.

Caudle was charge with grand larceny and scheme to defraud.  He was arraigned in Town of Lockport court and is currently in the Niagara County Jail.

Investigators believe Caudle has been involved in similar scams involving Craigslist. Anyone who has had any contact with or has been a victim of a scam involving Caudle is asked to contact Investigator John DiPasquale at SP Lockport, 716-434-5588.
