WEST SENECA, N.Y. - A 25-year old, former substitute teacher at West Seneca West High School has pleaded guilty to federal child porn charges.
Police say Timothy Michael Bek pleaded guilty to five counts of producing child pornography and a single count of possession of child porn. Bek may face life in prison.
Federal prosecutors say Bek admitted that he set up a fake Facebook identity as a teenage girl. This was how he was able to get five teenage boys to send him pornographic images of himself.
"My important message though, from this case, is really to parents and students. By all means, know who you're communicating with online. The safest course of action is simply not send explicit pictures of yourself over the internet even if you think you can trust the person you're sending them to," said United States Attorney, William Hochul. "And the best thing is, if you have any cell phones with cameras or computers with camera phones, be very, very careful who you send your pictures to in the first place."
Bek was arrested last June after FBI agents arrested his older brother on similar charges.
