SALAMANCA, NY-- The Superintendent of Clymer Schools, who was found shot to death Monday outside his home, was laid to rest Friday in his hometown of Salamanca.
Family and loved ones gathered in Salamanca to say their final goodbyes to Keith Reed, Jr.
His funeral was held at the United Congregational Methodist Church in Salamanca.
On Thursday, investigators said Anthony Robert Taglianetti, II of Woodbridge, VA is a suspect in the death of Keith Reed, Jr.
Update: Taglianetti taken into custody in Virginia.
Chautauqua County Sheriff Joseph Gerace says they have evidence that put Taglianetti in Clymer at the time of Reed's death which he says investigators now believe occurred some time on Friday evening.
Gerace says Taglianetti is no longer in the state and believes he went back to Virginia.
"We are using every law enforcement resource available to us to locate this individual," Gerace said.
Gerace would not release a motive in the shooting, but did say Reed's job as a superintendent has nothing to do with the shooting.
Detectives spent the past few days scouring Reed's property looking for clues, as well as following up on several tips.
Gerace says there are no known eyewitnesses to the shooting and crime scene tape remained stretched across the entrance to Reed's home Thursday afternoon.
On Wednesday, more than 300 people gathered inside the Clymer United Methodist Church Wednesday night to pray for Reed and his family. Reed was very popular among students, staff and the community.
