BUFFALO, N.Y. -- A call for a discussion on cat licensing in the city of Buffalo.
Ellicott District Councilmember Darius Pridgen, says he's received several calls and emails from residents concerned about stray cats in their neighborhood.
He says because there is no ordinance, agencies aren't sure which cats are strays and which cats are pets. Pridgen filed a resolution about the issue.
"We don't want to wait until there's a big problem. We have a growing cat population that is not being cared for in a home and we need to deal with that before it gets even worse," said Pridgen.
He adds he wants to hear from residents before moving forward.
