BUFFALO, N.Y. - Black Friday seems to have arrived a bit early. Plenty of people are starting the holiday shopping rush a day sooner.
Dozens of people were lined up outside the Kmart on Hertel Avenue in North Buffalo hours before the store opened at 6 a.m. Thursday.
Kmart is among a handful of retailers that is open on Thanksgiving.
It's a growing trend, as retailers try to cash in.
According to the National Retail Federation, in 2009 only three percent of Thanksgiving weekend shoppers hit stores on Thursday.
In 2010 it was nine percent, and last year it jumped to nearly 25-percent.
Walmart opened at 6 a.m. Toys 'R' Us opens at 8 p.m. Target opens at 9 p.m. and Macy's and Best Buy will open their doors at midnight.
