BUFFALO, NY-- A juror in the Dr. James Corasanti trial who was thrown off the case after being arrested on drunk driving charges during the case, will not be heading to jail.
Michael Barron, 40, of Kenmore, was sentenced Monday to 100 hours of community service.
His license was revoked for one year, and he must participate in a drinking and driving program as well as a victim impact panel.
Barron crashed his car into a light pole near Kenmore Mercy Hospital on Elmwood Avenue earlier this year. Police say he fled the scene and was followed by a witness who called 911. He was caught a few blocks away by Town of Tonawanda Police.
The arrest caused him to be delayed in getting to court on time when the Corasanti trial began. The Judge dismissed Barron from the jury once the truth revealed why he was late to court.
