2012 news Time Capsule

BUFFALO, NY - How much news happened in 2012? More than you can stuff in box. Or so it would seem to most.

However, anyone who knows Two On Your Side's Dave McKinley-- or who has seen his desk-- knows he's somewhat of a "collector" of mementos...and once again he's piled them up from a year's worth of news gathering, for future generations to behold.

The 2012 Two On Your Side news time capsule has been filled with items gathered by one reporter throughout a year of gathering news...or in some cases, items emblematic of some of the stories we've brought you through the course of the past year.

From a Hostess Fruit Pie, to a map signed by Nik Wallenda, to a chunk of debris plucked from a pile of rubble, which was once the boyhood home of a famous Buffalonian.

Click on the video player to watch our story from 2 On Your Side Reporter Dave McKinley and Photojournalist Scott May to see what has been preserved from the past year, as we embark on a new one.

And while you're at it, why not make it a New Year's resolution to follow Dave on Twitter: @DaveMcKinley2
