AMHERST, N.Y. - Police are investigating a crash that happened Friday afternoon at the Tops Market on Maple Road.

It happened around 2:00 p.m. in front of the Goodwill trailer.
Police say 69-year-old Dave Celari crashed head on into a parked van.

The driver of the van was standing next to the van when the crash happened and was thrown to the ground.
Her passenger was behind the van and also knocked to the ground.

They were dropping off items to the Goodwill at the time of the crash.

A Goodwill worker was knocked off a platform by the trailer during the crash.  All three people were taken to ECMC.

Police say it appears Celani mistakenly hit the gas pedal instead of the brake.  He was not hurt.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call Amherst Police at 689-1311.
