GRAND ISLAND, NY - A rollover accident on the north end of the north Grand Island Bridge Friday morning had traffic backed up "half-way across the island," a Niagara International Transportation Technology Coalition (NITTEC) official said.
At about 7:45 a.m. all lanes headed north toward Niagara Falls were blocked and traffic was being rerouted to Buffalo Avenue.
An hour later, traffic was moving again, slowly.
New York State Police say it was a multi-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer that caused two minor injuries.
Road conditions on Grand Island and in Niagara County are worsening, with slick snow build-up on the roads and reduced visibility causing numerous accidents. Drivers are reminded to take it slow and be patient.
