Summer Schedule Announced for Old Falls Street
Niagara Falls, NY - The summer schedule of events for Old Falls Street was announced Thursday, and it includes many new features for this year.
Starting Memorial Day weekend, new food vendors will offer a fresh selection of poutines, sliders, sandwich wraps and tacos as well as vegetarian options. Amy's Truck and the Roaming Buffalo food trucks will also be available.
In June, Old Falls Street will premiere its Wi-Fi Café located near the Comfort Inn.
Jazzy Sundays, a new free live music series that features local jazz, Dixieland and big band musicians will begin July 7 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
On Wednesdays starting July 10, from noon to 3:00 p.m., guests can greet reenactors of historical Niagara Falls figures, like Nikola Tesla and the Great Blondin, as they walk along Old Falls Street.
"It's really exciting. I think what we're bringing, our subtle changes this year - in the way of our Wi-Fi and a lot of great food and programming that's happening - It's just a nice buzz we have here in downtown Niagara Falls," Susan Swiatkowski, Old Falls USA marketing director, said. "All of our collaborators are really working together to make something festive and fun, that's even our tagline - food, festivals and fun."
Guests can play life-size board games and rent bikes this summer. And some old favorites will also be featured, including Fridays on Old Falls free concert series on June 29 and Flicks on Old Falls free movie series on July 11.
