BUFFALO, NY-- A Labrador Retriever who escaped following a fire at a home in Buffalo and was seriously burned needs your help.
Three year old Labrador Retriever Rocsi was one of two dogs to escape the two-alarm fire on East Eagle street in Buffalo earlier this month.
She was severely burned, and her owner surrendered her to the SPCA this past weekend when she couldn't afford to pay for Rocsi's vet care.
The SPCA had to remove a lot of dead skin and wasn't sure she'd survive the weekend, but Rocsi's still fighting.
"It's going to be a very long process, because once all the dead skin is off she's gonna have to rebuild some skin," says Dr. Helene Chevalier. "She's not out of the woods. There's always worry of infection, she's on antibiotics and obviously her spirits, she has to keep it up, so we're working really hard with her. But so far, she's in good spirits.
If you would like to donate to help Rocsi, you can contact the SPCA at: 875-7360.
