BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The popular North Buffalo institution, the North Park Theatre on Hertel Avenue will live on, despite a decision by the current theater operator to end its agreement to run it.
Dipson Theatres has announced it will no longer run the North Park, which has been around since the 1920's.
Attorney Thomas Eoannou, who owns the building the theatre is in, tells us he'll team up with some local establishment owners to convert the theatre to digital projection. Lots of cosmetic work will also be done on the theater.
Eoannou, who calls the North Park the "crown jewel" of Hertel Avenue, says he'll also keep the staff, some who have been working there for 40 to 50 years.
