BUFFALO, NY - The early morning hours of July 4th were busy for Buffalo firefighters, who had to respond to at least four fires in the city.

One of them on Linwood Avenue near Bryant sent an entire apartment building full of people onto the street around 3 a.m.

Firefighters say it started as a small stove fire on the second floor of the Elliott Apartments, but it soon engulfed the entire kitchen.

One resident was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation and is expected to be fine.

Firefighters estimate the damage at $40,000
