BUFFALO, NY-National Grid crews continue their work restoring power to areas hard hit by strong thunderstorms that moved through parts of WNY Friday night and Saturday morning.
As of 1:30pm Sunday, there were some scattered outages in both Erie and Niagara counties. National Grid's website estimates a restoration time of 2pm Sunday for those customers.
"This was a fast moving, but very severe storm that came with extremely high winds and caused extensive damage to our electrical system," said National Grid, NY President Ken Daly. "We remain in close contact with local emergency response teams and local officials as we move from damage assessment to restoration efforts today.
