BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Thursday was a very exciting day for an historic landmark on Buffalo's East side.
The state has released nearly $200,000 in grant funding to help restore Corpus Christi Church.
It's money that was promised more than one year ago, but it took quite a bit of pushing from local lawmakers to finally get it.
The funding paves the way for another round of significant repairs to a building that's been around since 1898.
The grant funds are expected to be released just in time for the church's annual Dozynki polish Harvest Festival which runs this weekend.
