TONAWANDA, NY - The G.M. Engine Plant in Tonawanda celebrates its 75th anniversary Friday by inviting the public inside the plant for an open house.
The open house is from noon to 8 p.m. on Friday.
Plant manager Steve Finch says the open house is an opportunity to show off the changes the plant has made. "People will be able to see some really, really exciting things. The plant is all completely new. Even if you were here a couple of years ago, the last time we had our open house, this is a chance to see everything new - all of the things that have taken place and some really great products," says Finch.
G.M. plans to use the event to announce the launch of two new products and allow people to get their first look at the 2014 Corvette Stingray.
G.M. says attendees should park at their Kenmore Ave. facility and a shuttle bus will be provided from that location.
Open house attendees will not be allowed to wear flip flops or open toe shoes due to safety regulations.
