LACKAWANNA, NY - The streets of Lackawanna were a scene of confusion and chaos after a double shooting shortly after midnight Sunday. One person is dead and another is in serious condition while the gunman remains at large.

Police say Richard Abrams, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene while Damon Turner, 44, remains in critical but stable condition. Both men are from Lackawanna.

A source in the Lackawanna mayor's office tells 2 On Your Side that Lackawanna police were called to the corner of Olin and Olcott streets at 12:03 a.m. for a report of shots fired. They arrived to a scene of chaos with hundreds of people in the street. Back-ups were called in from Buffalo, West Seneca, Orchard Park and even as far away as the Town of Tonawanda police department to help take control of the situation.

Apparently, a block party was underway when the shooting occurred.

The Lackawanna Police Department is still investigating.  They are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call their Detective Bureau at 827-6410 or 827-6411.
