BUFFALO, NY-- For the thousands of families across Western New York whose lives have been affected by heart disease this weekend is a cause for celebration.
Hundreds of survivors and loved ones will take part in the 19th annual Buffalo Niagara heart walk Sunday to raise money for heart disease research.
One such survivor is Nathan Urso, whose underdeveloped heart has left him with breathing and eating issues. For his mother Maria seeing everyone rallying together is an inspiration.
"It makes you feel great that you have so many people behind you and so many people are hoping for the same thing you're hoping for.and you know that, I know that he has a chance," says Maria Urso, Nathan's mother.
The walk begins at 8am Sunday morning at Coca Cola field- and if you see Nathan there, he'll be wearing his super hero cape.
The Heart Association gives the capes out to kids who are battling or have survived heart disease.
