CLARENCE, NY - A memorial run here in Western New York is helping keep alive the memory of the victims of Flight 3407. Clarence Town Park was the setting for today's 5th Annual Flight 3407 Memorial Race.
Volunteer coordinator Karen Wielinski lost her husband in the crash. She says the run isn't just about remembering those lost, but thanking their neighbors.
"We appreciate all of the support people have given us and also supporting the race, especially on a day like today," said Wielinski. "We'd just to thank the community for always being with us from the start and still supporting us."
This run also is the first after the FAA finally began putting some of the safety measures that the families fought for into place.
