NORTH TONAWANDA, NY - Jordan L. Wankasky, 17, of 764 Nash Road, was charged with attempted murder after attacking another 17-year-old with a knife.
The stabbing happened at 95 Hagen Avenue at about 5 a.m. on Saturday.
The victim was treated for multiple stab wounds to his head and upper body and released from Erie County Medical Center a few hours later. His wounds are not believed to be life-threatening.
According to a statement, North Tonawanda police officers, after interviewing witnesses, determined that "the suspect was attempting to kill the victim after he had lost a fight with him several minutes earlier."
In addition to attempted murder in the second degree, Wankasky has been charged with assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.
