BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Ulrich's Tavern, which was shut down by the state in 2012, is under Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Its assets will be sold.
The restaurant and bar had been operating under Chapter 11 bankruptcy. It recently reopened after being closed due to more than $215,000 in state tax debt.
Under Chapter 7, assets are liquidated, proceeds are distributed to creditors, and the business is closed.
Known for its German cuisine, Ulrich's opened in the fall of 1868 and recently underwent a major renovation. It was featured in a 2009 episode of the popular Travel Channel Show "Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations."
Our calls to Ulrich's went unanswered.
