BUFFALO, NY - A man from Brooklyn is now at the Erie County Holding Center following a large marijuana bust Friday night.
The Erie County Sheriff's office held a press conference Friday night to show off about 33 pounds of pot deputies seized. The estimated street value is $165,000, the Sheriff's Office says.
Deputies arrested Min Chi Huynh, 40, of Brooklyn on Flint Road in the Town of Amherst after recovering a suitcase full of vacuum-sealed bags containing marijuana.
Deputies, who had been watching Huynh, decided to close in on the alleged dealer when they determined he was driving the vehicle with a suspended license.
"When he exited his vehicle, he actually got outside the vehicle, police personnel approached him and identified themselves as police officers, and he fled," said Erie County Sheriff Tim Howard. "At the time he fled he discarded the suitcase that had five pounds of marijuana."
Howard says Huynh, who is a native of Vietnam, had been under surveillance after he was found at the airport carrying a large amount of cash.
He also served time for an armed home invasion in Queens back in 1992.
