TONWANDA, NY-- A school resource officer at Tonawanda High School was injured trying to break up a fight between two students.
A school official tells 2 On Your Side, there was a physical confrontation between two boys in the hallway.
School Resource Officer Detective Tim Toth, the school's assistant principal and a hall monitor were trying to break up the fight when one of the boys fell on Detective Toth's leg.
Toth was taken to the hospital with a leg injury. He sent 2 On Your Side a tweet saying he was home and resting comfortable. The extent of his injury is not known at this time.
The school official says both students were arrested and are expected to be arraigned in City of Tonawanda Court later today. They are currently charged with disorderly conduct, but could face more charges.
