Provo, UT (Sports Network) - Tyler Haws tied the score, drained the go-ahead
free throw, and made clutch free throws in the closing seconds to lift the BYU
Cougars to a thrilling 61-58 decision over the Utah Runnin' Utes in a non-
conference tilt at the Marriott Center.
Haws went 10-of-10 from the charity stripe to contribute 14 points for BYU
(6-3), which won its fourth game in five outings. Matt Carlino scored a game-
high 19 points and dished out five assists off the bench while Brandon Davies
tallied 11 points, six rebounds, and three blocks.
Jordan Loveridge paced Utah (6-3) with 14 points. Glen Dean netted 10 points
and Dallin Bachynski grabbed a team-high nine boards. The Runnin' Utes' loss
snapped their two-game winning streak.
Utah outscored the hosts, 18-6, in the paint in the opening period on its way
to a 35-26 halftime lead. The Cougars did not hold a lead at any point in the
