Bozeman, MT (Sports Network) - Tevin Svihovec shot 9-of-11 from the floor for
a season-high 23 points as the Northern Colorado Bears captured a 85-72 road
victory over the Montana State Bobcats in a Big Sky Conference bout at
All five starters scored in double-digits for Northern Colorado (7-15, 5-9 Big
Sky), which had lost four of its previous five games. Tate Unruh scored 15
points, Derrick Barden tallied a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds,
and Tim Huskisson and Connor Osborne netted 12 and 11 points, respectively.
For Montana State (10-12, 7-7), Antonio Biglow scored 15 points, while
Christian Moon and Blake Brumwell poured in 14 apiece. Xavier Blount added 11
points for the Bobcats, who have lost three of four.
Northern Colorado outshot Montana State from the field in the first half, 55.2
percent to 39.1 percent, as it opened up a 41-30 lead at the break.
The Bears' hot shooting continued after intermission, making 13-of-18 from the
floor (.722) as they pulled away.
Northern Colorado was also effective from the foul line, making 21-of-25 from
the stripe. The Bears' great night shooting spoiled a solid field goal
shooting effort from Montana State (.472).
