Hempstead, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Frantz Massenat scored a game-high 32
points for the Drexel Dragons, who edged out the Hofstra Pride, 77-74, in a
Colonial Athletic Association matchup at the Mack Sports Complex.
Massenat also contributed nine assists for the Dragons (11-9, 3-4 CAA), who
bounced back after losing two straight games. Chris Fouch netted 19 points to
help the offense.
Zeke Upshaw notched 27 points to lead the Pride (7-15, 3-4), who dropped their
third straight. Jamall Robinson recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10
rebounds. Dion Nesmith and Moussa Kone added 13 and 10 points, respectively.
The Dragons shot 51.6 percent from the floor in the opening half, including 8-
of-13 from 3-point range. The Pride answered with a 44.8 percent showing but
were down 40-32 at halftime.
Hofstra turned things around in the second half, however, making an even 50
percent of its field goal tries, to Drexel's 40.7 percent. The Pride clung to
a five-point lead with 9:01 left, but just three minutes later, a Massenat 3-
pointer gave the Dragons back the lead. After a Massenat layup with 2:08 left
broke a 66-66 tie, the Dragons would not look back.
The Dragons outscored their opponent 20-8 in points off turnovers and 30-20 in
the paint in a back-and-forth contest that saw 10 lead changes.
