Players to keep an eye on in the first week

K'Shawn Sistrunk, Niagara Falls Jr., is a 6 foot, 180 lb. RB who mixes speed, vision, power, and acceleration. He will be one of the top Running Backs in WNY and is capable of rushing for 1500 yards and scoring for 20 TDs. He runs a 4.4 forty. The Wolverines open at Lancaster.

Ben Holmes, Orchard Park Sr., was an integral part of the Quakers' march to the State Title in 2001 and scored the winning TD in a regional win over Rush-Henrietta. "Bambi" runs a 4.5 forty, is extremely agile, and will direct the potent Quaker offense. Quakers play at Lockport in week 1.

Qadree Ollison, Canisius Jr. RB, displayed tremendous speed, power, and acceleration during the 2011 season and that was on full display at the St. Joe's semi-final game. The Junior played a monster game; he will be All-WNY if he plays to his potential. The Crusaders host McQuaid in the opener.

Chaquille Nettles, Williamsville Sr. WR, transferred from South Park, and with QB Trent Ferguson, should form one of the top passing combinations this season. Chaq is quick, fast, explosive, and has excellent hands (similar to his brother DJ, who starred for Sweet Home in the Panthers' State Title Championships.) The Billies host Timon in the opener, which should be a shootout.

Marquel Jackson, Cheektowaga, is the total package. The Senior Running Back has tremendous speed, acceleration, power, and vision and is the top  Running Back in WNY entering the season. The warrior will be a force to contend with at every game and is a potential 1st-Team All-WNY and All-State. Don't be surprised if Marquel rushes for 2,000 yards. The Warriors open at Tonawanda.
