Mark Rubin, who was an All-WNY and NYS Player at Amherst from 2000-2007 and who played Safety at Penn State also was an  outstanding swimmer. In fact, Mark defeated 23 Olympic medal winner, Michael Phelps as a youth.

Alumni Focus: JC Tretter, former All-WNY player from Akron is starting left tackle for Cornell. The 6'4, 250lb former tiger is one of the best lineman in the Ivy League.

Cortland Haines, Jamestown senior lineman, will be out 3 or 4 games as a result of knee surgery. This is a big loss for the Red Raiders since he was ALL-WNY in 2011 and a candidate for awards this season. 
Bad Timing: Bennett missed 12 players for their first 2 games due to academic ineligibility.
